love the idea of solar panel

the idea of contributing to the world and being a little bit more green motivated me to buy this external backup battery with solar panel. although the solar panel only let you recharge the battery up to 50% i would say this is a really good emergency battery supply. Was planning on using it on Tayrona beach on Colombia, where i will go camping on island where there is no electricity, for my iphone and mp3 player, hope it works fine, and it continues on working, not like other reviews out there. overall bought the product about 3 weeks ago, it has worked pretty well, surprisingly it just charged my iphone, with 100% charge on the external supply up to 70% on airplane mode and with all the apps on the background closed. i really thought this could have charged my iphone up to 100%, hope this was just a mistake on my behalf since charged it 50% with solar energy and then the next day charged it up to 100% with my computer, thought this would come with a wall charger. it only taked about 2 hours and a half to charge, up to 70%. in comparison to the wall charger of the iphone it took the same amount of time that the wall charger, but it didnt charged the iphone up to 100% as the wall charger would do. but taking in count it is solar energy, it is a really good deal for the price and same quality as other portable energy supplies. for that i give this a 4stars, since it accomplishes what i was expecting, with some minor details that will have to verify and when done, will edit my review.

Solar charging is flawed - this worked as well as it could

I took this on a Pgh-dc bike trip and thought I could easily charge my iPhone along the way. Before I left I charged it using the USB connection to my computer. It charged my phone pretty quickly, but when I had to use actual solar power to charge it, I couldn't get it past 50%. I thought the sun was going to melt it before I got an actual charge out of it. I wouldn't recommend it, but I don't know if there is a better alternative.

Not good

This product claims to have double the capacity of my netbook battery but will only charge it to less than 50% before it is dead. While the battery is fairly small the charger and chord are not. So traveling with the device is less convenient than you would expect. Also, while the battery is not large, it is much larger than a second battery from the netbook company, which has a vastly greater capacity. Also, the 'free' adapters the company will send you for the unit so you can actually use it with your device still involve a shipping charge and associated delay. My advice is don't waste your time, get a proper second battery for your device unless you are stuck with something that will not allow its battery to be changed. The price will probably be less, and you won't have the hassle of dealing with this wonky thing. Don't buy it.

i purchased a primo power core battery pack at Fry's after being assured that it did have the tip for my Acer Iconia 500 and would charge this tablet. i bought primo item at Fry's while on a trip with my husband. when i returned home, the battery pack did not have the tip or capacity to charge my tablet. i was unable to return the product and the customer service at primo power core could offer me no suggestions and would not accept a return.I finally decided to try the energizer xp8000 power pack due to having a 10 hr flight coming up in the next few months. i read many reviews and looked at a demo on youtube and decided to chance it.I was very pleased when i received the battery. The battery arrived within 3 days and this is with regualar free shipping. There are numerous tips included. the connecting wires are color coded as to voltage requirements. They even included the nb12 tip needed for my acer iconia 500.I was impressed at the quality of the device, their packaging appopriate tips and wires necessary to charge just about any item. All i had to do was open the box remove the cord and tip and start charging my device - the battery pack has a full charge on opening the box. no more waiting for it to charge and then try the item out.i have not used the item for my trip so this is why i am giving it a 4 star.overall, i am pleased with this item

Works great for my iPhone 5 with my own lightening cable. I used it on my last trip to Northern CA and it worked perfectly to charge my phone. I'm thinking of ordering an adapter so I can charge both my ipad and my iPhone 5. My ipad uses the 30 pin cable and my iPhone 5 uses the lightening cable so I just need the small adapter to charge the iPhone instead of carrying around two cables.

What a GREAT product!

I needed a replacement item for an exchange I did with Insidecomputers. I chose this eFreesia bar. Many times I'm in situations where I'm not near a plug in to charge my iPhone. This product seemed like the best solution. I just recently went to an all day seminar where people were scrambling to find a plug-in to re-charge their phones. I didn't worry, I had my eFreesia bar! By early afternoon, my phone needed to be charged. I plugged in to the bar and charged away. The convenience of having this product ready to use when you need it is priceless. This battery is a good value.

This is the third battery I've purchased from Amazon. The first (NewTrent) outperformed its power rating 125%, the second (no-name brand) underperformed by more than 50%, but this one, the EasyAcc 12000mAh was more or less spot on after testing for 4 full charge cycles. Better than 3 stars, but not 5 stars... It is the best value at 42 bucks, where other brands are usually priced from $60-120 for the same 12000 mAh capacity.It is a "brick" of a battery, at just under 1lb, but you can certainly depend on it to fully charge the average 1500 mAh smartphone, from 0-100%, at least 6 times, but up to 8 times. An iPad2 175% or an iPad3 to 100%. It has a 1A, and a 2A charging port for charging a smartphone and a tablet simultaneously; very convenient when travelling.

Better than I could have hoped for.

I purchased this because I'm moving from PA to AL and I'll be using my phone's GPS to get there. Unfortunately my outlets in my car don't work so I had to improvise. My move isn't until a later date but I gave it a test run and it charged my phone and girlfriends phone for less than 25% of its battery. Compare the specs and price of this beast up against any product a retail store has. So far it's great, I'll be recommending this to anyone that asks.

Great value, great product, one hitch...

I just received this today, so my review is premature, but with such a simple product, I don't expect many surprises. I'll update my review if anything comes up.There's not doubt, 12,000 mAh for $41 is a good value. And the fact that it's input is a micro USB and it has two standard USB "A" output receptacles makes it perfect. It comes with a bunch of cords/adapters that I'll probably never use since every chargable device that I have already came with cords that are compatible with the standard receptacles on this battery.It's size and weight are appropriate for a 12,000 mAh battery. It'll fit in your pants pocket, but it won't be fun to have it in there. But, it'll be no problem carrying it in the small pocket of your backpack, in your purse, or even in your jacket pocket. If you need a smaller battery, you will need to compromise on capacity. I have a pair of tiny Duracell 1,100 mAh backup batteries for when I'm wearing tight jeans ;)CON: My only criticism at this point is that it won't charge your device while it is plugged into a power source. This SUCKS. It means that when you get home at night and want to charge both this battery and your smart phone, you can't simply plug your battery into the charger and you smart phone into the battery. If you do, the battery will charge and your phone won't. Instead, you will need two chargers (one for the battery and one for your phone). Alternately, you will need one charger with two outputs. I have an Energizer XPAL 8000 that does not have this limitation though its capacity is less and its price is MUCH more.I'd like to hear from others which other batteries do not have this limitation.

Amazing!

I got this product for my mom since she replaced her old Nokia with an iPhone 4s.Of course battery life differs drastically between those models. As a result the phone would run out of juice most of the time.Pros:-Compact in size. (9cms length 2.2cms width)-Sturdy aluminum body. (Always a good thing inside a purse)-Bright silver color. (Easier to locate in a purse)-Charges in less than 2 hours using a USB wall charger.-Fully charged the phone twice on a single charge with juice left.-Handy accessories pouch and cable included. ( mini & micro USB + iPhone plug)-Auto cut off feature if not in use.Cons:-None so far.Now we no longer worry about my mom's phone running out of charge in case of emergencies.Highly recommended!!

Anker to the rescue!

It works well! It fits fairly comfortably in my pocket and charges my iPhone within a couple hours. It is somewhat shiny in appearance and is made of durable metal. It's also much more affordable than other portable chargers on the market and is a must have for the avid smartphone user. You may also want to know that the manual says to charge it only every 3 months. Get it!

small handy charger

This is a good product. It is small and light. I used it to keep my iphone charged while a did a 9.5 hr bike ride using a GPS app. The phone finished with 91% battery due to the charger. I estimate that the charger is enough to charge my iphone5 about twice. That makes sense because the iphone5 battery is 1434 mAh. It is about the size of a roll of quarters but lighter. I am glad I got this over bigger chargers with more mAh that are more than I need.
