Pretty Impressed with this case

With previous phones, I've always hated having to decide between an extended battery, and strong protection for my phone. I love that with this I don't have to make that choice anymore.My favorite pro: I've always had Otterbox cases before. THey're great, they're industrial, and they're big. Usually not a problem, but occasioanly you're wearing a suit where you don't want something big, but still want the phone protected. Well, you can buy another case. This case takes care of that. First there is a basic hard case that covers ther phone. It's small and thin. Love this. Then for everyday use, there are two additional layers that you can add to that. First a rubber case, and then a molded plastic that goes over that, which clamps everything together. I now have the choice of protection levels.Now, my one negative. The screen protector that it came with. I was pretty unimpressed with. For me, it was worth it to replace that with a ZAGG Invisible Shield protector. Pretty small negative.ADDED: Okay, I've had this case on my phone for a few months now, and I wanted to mention something. I accidently left my phone on the roof of a minivan on vacation. The rubber of the case allowed it to hang on to the roof of the van to about 45 MPH ... when it flew off. It landed in the roadway, in a lane, VERY close to where the tires actually meet the road. My case may have several scratches on it ... but the phone is PERFECT!

There Are Problems

This case does have a couple of design issues but does a number of things pretty well.The biggest problem is one that is shared by most cases on the market: a belt clip rather than a solid loop that doesn't open. This one has come off my belt when I've been sitting in the car with the seat belt on--twice in three weeks. The seat belt pushes on it in just the right--or wrong--way, whether the phone is carried horizontally or vertically on the belt. This has happened to me with other belt clip cases, so it's not a problem unique to this one. I'm going to try super-gluing the clip together or something else.The second problem is the locking mechanism. To lock the top lever in place, you slide a little clip on the back side of the case up. When carrying the phone vertically, the locking clip ends up getting pushed down just by moving around because my side presses against it, particularly when sitting. A better design might be to move the clip down.What's good? It does provide an exceptional level of protection; the hard plastic claw part that is facing out when the whole thing is assembled is very strong. It has taken a lot of abuse already and protected the phone well. I haven't tried dropping it, but it seems at least as good as any other case in terms of drop protection. And if you want an extended battery, you have very few options. The stripped-down case works reasonably well for pocket carry.Two other minuses: The rubber is a dust magnet and you can expect to strip the whole thing down frequently to adequately clean the screen. Also, the rubber-like cushioning shell functions like an insulating wet suit, so the phone will heat up a bit more than it would otherwise.Three changes would improve this case:1. Provide a closed loop, even if only as an option (it's not that much trouble to slide your belt through the loop and is much more secure than a clip).2. Change the locking mechanism so that it won't get pushed off accidently.3. Instead of having a solid piece of rubber-like material, consider making it a grid to enhance cooling (like a bike helmet).

This is the best case for a Verizon Galaxy Nexus

I have gone thru several Otterbox cases with my Galaxy Nexus. The Sedio BD4-HKR4SSGNLX2 Convert case is simply the best case out there. I have had this product for several months now and can say this case beats all others hands down.
