Great Price for Good Battery

I waited until the Droid was out for a while before looking again for a reasonably priced extra battery. The price on this was very attractive. I had no problem with readings as I inserted the battery in the phone and fully charged it the first time. I used it as the main battery one day. It lasted most of the day as I recall, probably discharging a bit faster than the OEM battery does with my usual usage. Its rating is a little lower than that of the OEM battery but great when the relative prices are compared. I now carry it with me as a backup any time I am going to be away from a charger for an extended period of time, like on a plane or a commuter train.

Dissapointed

The product works to the extent that it powered my Droid when I first installed it, but it does not activate the feature on my Droid that tells me how much battery life I have remaining, and when I try to charge the battery, it does not indicate on the battery symbol on the face of the phone that it is charging. The result is that I am afraid to use this battery becuase I can not determine that it is charging or how much charge I have left in it. My purpose for purchasing a second battery was to have back up for those times when I am traveling and do not have access to electrical power and cannot charge my phone. If I can not determine that I am starting out with a fully charged unit, it does not serve my needs. I will keep this, but will purchase an original equipment battery as my primary back up.
