Just the backup battery I was looking for.

I had been looking for a battery back up for my iPhone and wanted one with high enough capacity for multiple charges, easy to use and has decent looks. The Gum Pro Plus has delivered in all areas. Since having it I have used it several times to recharge my iPhone or used it to maintain my current charge. Hooking up the battery for charging both itself and to the iPhone are easy and intuitive. If you can sync you iPhone your over qualified to use tis device, its that easy. I also like a a battery backup that uses a cable as opposed to hooking directly to the phone. I don't want to risk breaking the dock or adding bulk to the phone. This battery fits nicely in my pocket (its lighter than expected) and with using the phones original sync cable it all stays out of the way. Also, it seems to recharge the phone rather quickly, even faster that they advertise. At a 20% battery on the iPhone I guesstimate it took about 20-30 minutes to fully recharge. Recharging the Gum Pro Plus seems to take a bit longer than I expected, but the long term reward is worth it. I chose the Plus model over the Gum Pro because of the complaints about the Pros on/off slider switch being a problem. I figured the extra money was worth it for a button that doesn't have those problems and for a model that is more stylish. The only complaint I can come up with is one regarding design and usability. They could reduce the number of cables by using the iPhone proprietary cable for both charging itself and charging the phone. This way I would only have to carry a sync cable instead of both a sync cable and a mini-USB.

Used it on a trip from US to Australia to keep my iPhone IV charged. Contrary to some reviews it WILL charge an iPhone 4.Pro: small size, LED charge capacity indicators, made in Taiwan, charge cable and iPhone cable included, carrying bag as well.Cons:

Bought the 1200 output Energizer, just didn't work well with my Iphone, and I secretly coveted the Mobile Gum Pro Plus. Finally pulled the trigger, and I am very pleased with my purchase.I have an Iphone 4, and it looks like based on my usage it would be more realistice for a 2 1/2 time charge rather then a full 3, but then again, I was using my phone heavily during the recharging.The mobile gum pro plus charges my phone quickly, even during times of use. I didn't notice it get real hot, and I just charge my gum pro plus at night in case I need it the next day.If you are thinking about getting a battery extender for your mobile device (and you use your mobile device a lot) stop thinking, and get this. It's well worth it.
